Late Nights and Chilly Skies

Its about week eight here at the "Y".....or thereabouts. :) I cannot believe that I am almost halfway through my first semester. It is so insane to me! Anyway, because of the time of this post, you can tell that I am having a hard time getting to sleep on time...ever.  It's pretty much horrible. My mother is going to come up here and kill me if I don't improve swiftly.  I average about 5 1/2 hours of sleep a night, which is obviously not enough, yet I just can't seem to get to sleep before 1:30 these days!
On a lighter note, the weather is really starting to cool down.  The mountains are simply breathtaking and are filled with a conglomeration of vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows.  There is such a thing as fall? Weird.   We had our first snow fall a couple weeks ago on October 6th.  To a Texan girl, that is absolutely crazy.  Most of us Southerners and Cali people are going to die.  It's been solidified by the fact that we shiver whenever we are outside. Pathetic, right?  The air is taking on a wonderfully crisp smell and feel, and I am excited/ terrified for when it really starts to snow.  The leaves are getting crunchy, I get to wear boots, and the scarves are finally being used! It's a miracle! I actually use them for warmth up here!
I am also making some amazing friends.  The people up here are so above par, it's unreal.  I am so excited to meet more and more people each day! I feel so comfortable with the majority of the people here, and I can't help but loving them to death. I am so blessed, and I know that these people are the answers to my earnest prayers all through my senior year.  Such a testimony of His love and care for me. :)
So even though the onslaught of mid-terms is never ending, and I feel like I could sleep for a year, I am finally getting in the groove of things.  I absolutely love it here, and I can't imagine being anywhere else.
